About the role

Own what happens after the click across our client base, and be accountable for the conversion rate that decides whether every other channel is affordable.

Conversion is the multiplier on everything else we sell. A twenty percent lift in conversion rate changes what the client can afford to pay for traffic, which changes what every other pod can do. That is why this role sits above the channel teams rather than inside one.

You will run a research led program: qualitative research, session analysis, funnel instrumentation, hypothesis design, experiment execution and honest readouts including the tests that failed. We do not report inconclusive tests as wins.

You will also set the standard for the rest of the company, publishing the internal playbook other pods work from and training strategists to spot conversion problems before they become client complaints.

A typical week in this role

  • Watching real session recordings rather than assuming where the friction is
  • Designing experiments with a stated hypothesis, sample size and stopping rule
  • Reviewing test readouts with the analytics lead before anything reaches a client
  • Running a user interview or an unmoderated study on a live client journey
  • Coaching a strategist through a funnel diagnosis so the skill spreads
  • Killing a test that cannot reach significance instead of letting it run for optics

What you will own

Research programRun continuous qualitative and quantitative research: interviews, surveys, session analysis, form analytics and funnel instrumentation.
Experiment designDesign experiments with a written hypothesis, power calculation, guardrail metrics and a pre agreed stopping rule.
Test executionSpecify and QA tests with the web pod, including server side experiments where client side would harm page experience.
Analysis and readoutReport results honestly including losses and inconclusive outcomes, with the decision they lead to.
Funnel architectureRedesign checkout, enquiry and booking journeys with the web and design teams.
EnablementOwn the internal conversion playbook and train channel strategists to apply it.
AccessibilityHold experiments to accessibility standards so a lift is never bought with an exclusion.

Instrument the funnels of the three largest accounts and identify where value actually leaks.

  2. Days 16 to 45

Publish the research findings and a prioritized experiment backlog for each of those accounts.

  3. Days 46 to 75

Run the first cycle of experiments end to end and deliver honest readouts to clients.

  4. Days 76 to 90

Publish the internal playbook and run the first enablement session for channel strategists.

How success is measured

These are the numbers reviewed with you every quarter. There is no hidden scorecard.

Win rateOne in three tests producing a durable lift, measured after a holdout period
Client funnel conversionMeasurable improvement on every account inside two quarters
EnablementEvery channel strategist trained on the playbook within 90 days

This role is probably not for you if

  • You call every test a win
  • You optimize buttons and colors rather than the offer and the journey
